BCS
CMSG Conference & Exhibition 2003
Implementing CM Everywhere
Change, Configuration and Content Management
The British Computer Society Configuration Management Specialist Group (BCS CMSG)
Conference and Exhibition will be held 24 & 25 June, 2003, at Homerton College in
Cambridge, UK. The conference will bring together managers and practitioners working in Change, Configuration and Content management.
Presentations by practitioners and world leaders in the field will cover a wide variety of topics.
The following have already agreed to present at this event:
-
Callum Kidd, "Managing Configurations is not Configuration Management"
-
Bob Ventimiglia, "Effective CM is free CM"
-
Luc Lobel,
"CM Infrastructure - improving ROI for modern business"
-
Rene Schaap, "The Dark Side of
Configuration Management"
-
Mark Cartwright, " Agility with Ability - towards Operational Excellence"
-
Shirley Lacy and Michael Kennedy, "Realising the Benefits of CM - results of the CMSG survey"
Organisations are adopting configuration management best practices more and more as they realise that this is one of the key processes that enables them to manage their
configurations and changes successfully, allowing them to respond to increasing competitive pressures. The conference theme "Implementing CM Everywhere" explores the variety of ways that Change, Configuration and Content management are affecting the deployment and management of computer systems and IT applications.
We intend to run focused streams aimed at welcoming newcomers and old hands to the BCS CMSG by sharing our experiences and the lessons we have learnt along the way. As business and technology changes rapidly we also need to focus on the future how can we manage e-commerce applications; web configurations and content; large complex configurations? Are there new standards and tools that will help us leap forward? How do we sell configuration management and prove that best practice help organisations achieve their goals? How do we develop as professionals?
If you can contribute to this important conference, we want to hear from you whether you are a speaker, a vendor of configuration management tools or services or a potential sponsor.
