This event will look at implementation stories from various aspects of Change, Configuration and Release management across a range of organisations and speakers experiences. There will be real life case studies and practical examples that will help people both new to the subject and the more experienced. There will be an "Open Forum" at the end of the day to give everyone a chance to join in and ask the speakers further questions.

10:00 - 10:45 Steven Houghton-Burnett of Infonet: "Suffering from content chaos?".
If you have a web site that is more than a couple of hundred pages, have more than two or three content types or has more than a handful of contributors you will suffer from "content chaos". Steve will be offering practical real-world advice as well as going through the options available including what Return on Investment you should expect from a content management solution. His presentation is aimed at those who want more than "brochure update" and need their solution to integrate with their core business activities.

Kev Holmes is a Technical Consultant with Interwoven, the provider of one of the leading content management solutions. He has also worked in the field of software configuration management (SCM) for a number of years. Through real world examples Kev will put content management into perspective and will highlight the differences and similarities with SCM.

After more than 5 years working as a process consultant for a leading vendor of SCM and having seen a number of implementations that realised "slightly less than their full potential" Nick still believes that SCM is a "good thing". Based on his own experiences as a developer, (of several types of software over 12+ years), Nick hopes to justify this view and illustrate what makes for a successful roll out and how to avoid an inappropriate solution. Ivor has been the Configuration & Release Manager for 18 months within YEG. He is currently responsible for release management, audit techniques, FAST accreditation, license management and procurement. Ivor's talk will cover current processes in use within Yorkshire Electricity coupled with best practice techniques. Ivor will also cover tools in use within the company along with his methodology in the choice of the tool in each of the areas to try to link them back into ITIL best practices.
