Synopsis

This event includes presentations and workshops around the theme of designing your CMDB, including theory and practical advice and information.

By attending this workshop you will gain an insight into:

  • What constitutes a CMDB
  • How to design and implement a CMDB
  • Understanding the issues around selecting a solution
  • Understanding the ITIL V3 guidelines for the function of the CMDB in the Configuration Management System.

The event takes place at the BCS London Office, 5 Southampton Street.

The cost for members is £75 and for non-members is £100 which gives you membership to the BCS/CMSG.

This session aims to provide practical and pragmatic guidance in designing your CMDB, which includes:

- Identifying your key customers and their requirements;

- Designing the structure of your CMDB;

- Selecting which Items to record;

- Identifying which attributes you need;

The end goal is to develop an understanding of what is the minimum amount of data required, to build a CMDB that is genuinely useful in supporting key IT Service Management processes.
